Sodium silicate – lumps, liquid, powder and food grade
Sodium silicate (water glass) is supplied as glass lumps, liquid, powder and food grade. It is used across detergent and soap, adhesives, cement and binders, coatings, ceramics, textiles, foundry casting, water treatment, mineral processing and pulp and paper, and as a raw material for silica gel, colloidal silica and precipitated silica.
We have an annual capacity of 1,00,000 MT of silicate glass and 80,000 MT of silicate liquid.
It is one of our industrial chemical products, alongside soda ash, caustic soda and other process chemicals.

Lumps, liquid or powder – which form to buy?
Sodium silicate lumps (also called glass) are the solid form made by fusing sand and soda ash. They are the most economical to transport and store, and are dissolved under steam pressure by users who make their own liquid. Liquid sodium silicate is ready to use: it is specified by its SiO₂ : Na₂O ratio and density (Baumé), which set its viscosity and alkalinity for detergents, adhesives, binders and coatings.
Powder grades dissolve quickly in water and suit dry-mix products such as detergent powders and cement additives. Food grade material is used where the product touches food or water. Tell us your application and current grade, or see our other chemical products.
