IE3 Induction Motors
IE3 is the "premium efficiency" class of IEC 60034-30-1. Compared with an IE2 motor of the same rating, an IE3 motor has lower losses, so it uses less electricity over its life, which matters most on drives that run many hours a day.
They are available in the same frame sizes, mountings and pole numbers as standard motors, so they can usually replace an existing motor directly.

Getting the most from an IE3 motor
IE3 motors have lower losses than IE2 designs, which matters most on drives that run long hours: pumps, fans, blowers, compressors and conveyors. On variable-flow duties such as pumps and fans, pairing the motor with a VFD in an MCC or automation panel saves even more energy.
