Solar Inverters
The inverter converts the DC output of the solar modules into grid-compatible AC. Its MPPT (maximum power point tracking) keeps the array working at its best voltage as sunlight and temperature change, and its protections disconnect safely if the grid fails (anti-islanding).
Most inverters include monitoring through Wi-Fi or a data logger, so generation and faults can be tracked remotely.

String, hybrid or off-grid?
String inverters are the usual choice for grid-connected rooftop and ground plants: each one takes several module strings, tracks the maximum power point (MPPT) and exports to the grid. Hybrid inverters add a battery so solar energy can be stored for evening use or backup. Off-grid inverters run sites without a grid connection, and micro-inverters sit behind each module for roofs with shading or different orientations.
Size the inverter from the DC capacity of the array and the DC/AC ratio, and match the number of MPPT inputs to the roof layout. On the DC side the inverter is fed from a DCDB or string combiner box; on the AC side it connects through a solar ACDB, and larger plants step up through an inverter duty transformer.
