Buying silico manganese
State the manganese and silicon content, the carbon limit and the phosphorus and sulphur limits, plus the lump size. Common grades are about 60% Mn with 14% Si and 65% Mn with 16–17% Si. Steelmakers often use it alongside high carbon ferro manganese.
