Bucket Elevator
A bucket elevator lifts bulk material vertically using buckets fixed to a belt or chain. It saves floor space compared with an inclined conveyor and is common for feeding silos, hoppers and process equipment.

Belt or chain bucket elevator?
Belt bucket elevators run quieter and faster and suit free-flowing, less abrasive material such as grain and fertiliser. Chain elevators handle hot, heavy or abrasive material such as clinker and cement better. Capacity depends on bucket size and spacing, speed and the fill factor; the lift height sets the drive power.
Elevators are commonly driven by a shaft mounted gearbox with a backstop to stop reverse running. They are fed by conveyors and often feed silos in a batching plant. See all plant machinery.
