Monorail Gearboxes
Monorail gearboxes drive hoists and trolleys running on a single overhead beam. They must be compact, reliable under frequent start-stop duty, and sealed against dust and lubricant leakage.
Units are matched to the hoist capacity, travel speed and duty class.
Specifying a monorail drive
Monorail gearboxes drive the wheels of trolleys running on an I-beam or monorail track – on electric hoists, overhead conveyors and transfer systems. They must be compact enough to fit beside the beam, start and stop frequently, and hold position when stopped, so they are commonly paired with brake motors or crane duty motors.
For a quotation, share the total moving load, travel speed, beam size, wheel diameter and the duty (starts per hour). For other material-handling drives, see helical and worm gearboxes; all types are on the gearboxes page.
